Today, wanting to break up with my boyfriend, I invited him to dinner with my parents. I was sure they'd hate him, which would give me the excuse I needed. They ended up loving him, and now they won't stop mentioning marriage. FML

If you wanted to break up wouldn't you already have a reason without having to create one?

Don't **** over this guy, you never know he might be your last

Hey, here's a better idea... GROW A PAIR AND BE HONEST

so stupid! not being interested anymore is more than enough instead you have to involve your parents and put yourself farther in the hole.

Honestly, you don't deserve him, OP, if you're going to be such a manipulative, heartbreaking bitch to him. And trying to get your parents to take the blame? For shame on you, OP. For shame.

YDI for not just being honest about why you don't want to be with him. I hope you get married and have a wonderful life together.

Why would you have to 'make up' an excuse to not be with him? If you don't like him, then just be honest with him. Inviting him to dinner is something that you should do if you really like him, and are to the point in your relationship where you meet each others families. Not when you are trying to get your family to dislike someone... that's unfair to him...

sounds like you had no excuse you just wanted to be "free"

You are an awful person! YDI completely!
