Today, while on a road trip through Australia with my dad, we were both complaining that we had yet to see any kangaroos. Suddenly, we saw one up real close. The rental car saw it even closer. FML

Perhaps you should check your eyesight. Apparently you didn't see where you were driving either.

Only because we're wondering how long till something here kills you.

It is not nice to judge a whole country based on what little knowledge you have. Some of us are the most nicest people you would ever meet who would always lend a helping hand, that goes with every other country. Not everything in Australia is trying to kill you, it is actually a really beautiful place. If you don't provoke anything than nothing will attack you.

Pretty common actually. Driving around out side or Courindi my dad hit a kangaroo and a lot of the time the jump up and run off they are sturdy little bastards

Well actually us Aussies are very welcoming and always put our best foot forward but with attitude like that i could see why no one would greet you with a smile

I hope the car is okay and after repair it can bounce back real soon...and better yet it's not too expensive...

Gotta watch those Roos! They are stupid animals. Bad luck OP if it helps there always around at dusk ;) and slow down when you see em.

Kangaroos often jump infront of cars. I have to be careful driving out to my mum's house because kangaroos wait for you to approach before jumping infront of you.

I think the Australians are kindly implying that your a dick.
