winstonweigand tells us more.
Hey y'all it's OP here. This story was actually from a few years back, but someone asked me about the nasty scar on my leg and it reminded me of this event and how pathetic it was. This is how it happened: My family was cleaning out all the cupboards in our kitchen, and when it came to the cans, my dad would open them, empty them and then throw the can in the trash. He tends to not give a shit about Mother Nature. I was tasked with taking the trash out. The can was at the bottom of the bag, facing outwards, and the bag was stretched tight, but it didn't split open so the can wasn't protruding. I was swinging the bag back and forth because I was happy we were done, but when it hit my leg I felt a funny tickling feeling, only to look down and see blood gushing out of a large wound in my leg. Naturally, I was hysterical, because I had no idea how it had happened. The story actually gets funnier from here. In my panic, I ran inside to my family, but since I was bleeding so much, I slipped on my own blood upon entering the kitchen and slammed into a wall head first. I never felt pain throughout the whole thing because of all the adrenaline. Next thing I knew I was in the hospital getting an anesthetic shot DIRECTLY into the gash, followed by a bunch of stitches. Your comments were really funny hahaha, and yeah, we should have recycled, but I was just following my dad's orders! When I'm on my own, I always recycle. I guess Mother Nature punishes those who associate with environment criminals as well :)

Why were you not recycling your bean cans?
Perhaps recycling is the solution.
Should have recycled!
YDI for having a recyclable in the trash.
And that's why we don't put open cans and broken glass and stuff into bin bags. Sorry you're hurt but you kinda deserve it. If I did that at work I'd probably get fired.
Am I the only one that thought of that kid's show, Arthur, when he sliced his knee on a can?

So not only did you have a nasty blood gushing wound but a bump on the head as well. Ouch. It's crazy that you felt no pain, so I guess that's "good" in a sense.
that was not your day at all, good to hear you were ok, but that shot, that made me wince just hearing it. I did the same thing with a broken peice of glass, I dunno who was stupid enough to throw broken glass into the bin
I feel ya man, few years ago I had the same thing happen to me. Minus the slipping on my own blood and hittin my head on the wall. I just cut my leg on a freakin soup can Lid that was in the trash...
A shot in the gash? I've never gone to the hospital (although I have been to urgent care) but the thought of a needle in a gash on my leg makes me woozy...
@82 I had my finger sliced open at school in the art class...it was an accident but I had to get three stitches and yes they give you a shot in the wound •__• I couldn't even look.
I once smashed a window (I was knocking on it as it was part of a door and my brother wouldn't let me through, anyway, it turns out you get a booth in strength when your angry) and had to get stitches. The process of giving me anaesthetic hurt more than the actual wound itself.
I cringed so hard reading this OP... Now I have an additional reason to hate beans. :P
This wasn't even all that funny till you sloped in your own blood. I did something similar at my first job, it was glass, and I had to swing the bag to throw it into the dumpster.
You should have recycled!
Would that have changed anything? You still have to take out recycling.
This is why we recycle op.

beans beans the magical fruit.
I know the feeling. I once sliced my pinky open with a can of Vienna sausage.
