Hello! Wow, was NOT expecting this to get published! Just to let you all know what happened in more detail, the guy came through the drive thru around 3am and ordered $80 worth of food. I must have either read the order wrong or counted wrong and put in an extra cheeseburger. When he called back, I picked up, and he verbally abused me for about 2 minutes about how he was feeling sick because of my ignorance and that I should have known better. When I gave the phone to my manager, she listened, then sighed and responded with, "you're an idiot" and hung up. Haha. He then came back and we had to call the police to make him leave because he was clogging up the drive thru. Unfortunately, we've dealt with worse people.

I have felt sick after four..,I would have been glad for a free burger...what's the store policy say?
Refuse refund and ask for the extra $2.50 for the burger.
What an extraordinarily ignorant person.
Some people are just plain stupid.
You might want to read up on that case. There are quite a few incorrect things that people are assuming about the woman that sued. It's more complicated than the average passer-by makes it out to be.
This may be a whole new ballgame, but it sounds like the same argument a customer would make to a pharmacy for giving him too much medicine in his prescription. If a customer is that misinformed about what he's ingesting, of course he'll be more likely to get sick. Can people really blame that level of ignorance on the pharmacist or physician who prescribed it? Then again, I've seen practicing offices shut their doors because of lawsuits like these.
It looks you like you're the one who deserves a break today. :)

Wow some people are just assholes.
didnt happen to be in broadmeadows was it?
nope, not there
The joys of customer service!
Your manager knows what's up. Hope that extra cheeseburger wasn't deducted from your paycheck OP.
106 - Nobody cares. It's fast food. The cheeseburger literally costs them a few cents.
Atleast you'll have a funny story to tell :) As a former McDonald's employee I have a few myself that I most likely will not forget for a long time. Good thing your manager understod the situation!
#107, Oh God, don't say that to my manager. She'll have a shitfit of wasted food and the extensive amount of money wasted... -_-
116: There was once a customer that walked through the drive thru and yanked my window open and threw rocks at me and the others. That's just one of the many!
OP - That's nothing. I used to work at HJ and one Saturday night, this bloke and his mate walked in drunk and got completely naked. My manager had to kick 'em out. What I saw couldn't been unseen. There's was this other guy who tried to steal the money from the drive-thru register while he was in his car. And the best of all, this other bloke smashed his car in the restaurant breaking the front glass and made it all the way to the dining area.
Only in straya.
@101 you can always find ridiculous customers everywhere, it's not just mcdonalds lol
I used to work birthday parties at McDonald's and had a kid eat half the cake then throw it up, his dad then proceeded to hit on me. At least I got a nice 30$ tip out of it lol. Another time someone took a crap in the middle of the bathroom floor. They tried to bribe people to clean it up with free food. McDonald's is a great place for stories, I can attest to that :) but my favorite story is meeting my husband in the drive through haha
it seems those of youu ll who publish stories never expect them to get published. thats so ******* stupid
Correction, stupid assholes
we had heaps of people trying to **** with people at our maccas so now the drive through has to be locked at all times when someone is not dealing with the customer, i remember once my friends started coming through one at a time and trying to throw alcohol cans too me coz i wouldn't go out, i wasn't even on drive through lol
He should have been happy he got a free cheeseburger...
This guy would be the reason that we would all be given some sort of card with a daily allowance of food so you don't have to think about that last bite of whatever. For **** sake, you just take the order, receive payment and hand them the food.
She got third degree burns and was hospitalized for months, needing skin graphs and rehabilitation. the coffee was far beyond too hot for human consumption and it was not the first complaint they had received about the temperature of their products because the coffee machine was set wrong. Also she did not receive that much money, not even enough to cover all of her hospital bills because the court ruled it was 50% her fault because she was still holding the coffee in the moving car ( she wasnt driving her son in law was and they were rear ended in their drive through or right outside it i believe)
