Tough crowd

Today, my application for a holiday role at a department store was declined because I was "not as qualified as some other candidates." I worked this exact same job at this exact same store last year. FML

I lost count of all the retail companies who turned me down when I've had years of retail experience, and then one hired my brother, who had zero job experience at all, straight after he left college, which stung a little. Joke's on them, though, because now I'm awesome in a totally different sector of the workforce where I'm still underpaid and underappreciated, and my coworkers find me annoying, and my clients yell at me for no reason and demand things from me that I can't give them, but those things don't matter. Anyway, cheer up and keep looking. There's a department store out there who needs an elf. Or a Santa, if you're fat.
