I hope you called the police then and there. It will be obvious that he threw the book at you. A hard-covered textbook will leave marks. If you wait to file a report, the police might not do anything.

Maybe it's different in Canada, but in the USA, police departments can and do not pursue a case unless the civilian pushes them to do so. Some won't even start a case until the civilian reports that the crime occurred, even if they see it in person.

Okay. Just that small amount of information is enough to assume a lot of what your boss is doing isn't legal and you should take it up to the law or something. that's not right
