Trauma

Today, my untrained legs have been traumatised by the sudden regime of squats, mountain climbers and lunges I have been putting them through. I literally just have to trust-fall back onto the toilet and hope for the best, because my legs don't have the strength to support the gradual descent. FML

It gets better. Keep up the good work!

Once you get to the point where you can work them out then through what you did already but very lightly. Like do less reps, no weight, but just do something to lightly work them. It will really help with soreness.

Drink more mike but also don't over work yourself.

Pretty safe to say most people who have ever worked out have made that mistake at some point, if it makes you feel any better haha

Not necessarily. I stretched before my first spin class, but got so into it I didn't realize how hard I'd pushed myself until I got to the parking lot and nearly face planted when I stepped off the curb. I was fine in class, then I had ZERO control over my legs. I stretched before and after.

Don't forget to stretch first for really intense workouts, and always ALWAYS build up slowly, never just run right into it or you'll **** yourself up permanently, be careful

This is exactly what I'm going through, I feel your pain!

don't forget to stretch after every workout and take in adequate amounts of protein each day.

Minor YDI for going for it all at once. You're supposed to gradually increase the intensity of your exercises, not go for the major stuff right away, especially if you don't usually exercise to begin with as "untrained" implied to me. I still voted YLS instead of YDI because you didn't deserve such an unpleasant aftermath, but consider it a lesson learned. Good luck with future workouts!

I understand this. I added squats to my exercise routine. I struggled using the toilet because I just had to fall onto it. Getting back up was even harder. You're supposed to work your way up instead of start at a high amount.
