What a massive clock

Today, I was babysitting my younger brother while my parents were away. I turned my back on my brother for one minute and then I heard a huge crash from their room. He had somehow destroyed a family heirloom and 200 year-old clock. FML

The door should've been shut, perhaps even locked. BTW, your brother's an idiot.

You're jerk, 7. Good job for trying to be funny, but making an extremely offensive comment instead.

You turned your back for just one minute, hm? Were you right by your parents' room at the time, or are you just using a cliche to make us more sympathetic? How did you not hear him running off?

Kids can do a lot in the one minute they are unsupervised. When I was 4 my mother went to the kitchen while I was in the living room with my little brother (the kitchen and living room are adjacent to each other) and we decided that it would be a good idea to climb up the TV. The TV fell, we managed to get out of the way in time not to be killed and the TV was not damaged.

Maybe you need Chris Brown to come over there, I'm sure he can straighten the kid up.

Turn your back for one minute? Something about that seems a little BS, and you're making an attempt to act like you had been watching him nonstop... which is likely a lie. YDI.

Haha, the teen says it was one minute and we should all just believe her...... yeah ;)

Ah, younger siblings....they exist to make their older siblings' lives a living hell....my little sister used to steal food all the time and I was always blamed for it, even thought the evidence was clearly in my sister's teeth. And my parents wonder why she's over 200 lbs. now and I'm at a healthy 140. And to people who don't believe 1 minute is long enough to cause havoc, I'm sure you either don't have young siblings of your own, haven't ever babysat, or both. 1 minute is all a kid needs in order to cause trouble. It doesn't take long to wander into one room and knock something down.

Umm, I'm a middle sibling. And I'll tell ya, both Younger siblings AND older siblings are pain in the ass! The older sibling get more priveleges cuz they're more "responsible" and the younger sibling get's more care cuz you know, they're younger. You know what I get? Nothin :[

You have a roof over your head with food. Stop complaining about nothing.

FYL. You shouldn't have to watch kids every second once they are past a certain age. And there's and age when kids should know not to touch stuff... These two ages usually are fairly close together. Totally not OP's fault.
