Where'd you go?

Today, my cat came through my window, holding a dead rat in her mouth and dropped it in my pile of clothes. I then asked my dad if he could get the dead rat out of my room. After looking for an hour, he couldn't find it. Guess the rat wasn't dead after all. FML

Yeah they are known for moving when alive.

Heyyyy your kitty gave you a present! Make sure you pat it on the head and say good job for being a good hunter. Well, it may not have been a dead rat, but at least your kitty's heart was in the right place.

It's a gift, most gifts are given live or they are not considered high quality. The cat proved it was willing to chase something down and deliver it unharmed to you. Show some appreciation.

let's just hope that the cat either devoured it or took it out of the house somewhere.... rats are unsanitary.

Sucks that you've got a live rat loose, but there's no reason you couldn't have gotten rid of it yourself.

plus mice carry flees and ticks which once in your house very hard to get rid of basically almost impossible i went through 2 summers of flee bites because my cats kept escaping but when the winter came they all died

Same thing happened to me..Except my dog had the rat in her mouth and the guts were coming out and she put the rat on my bed.. dead.

My cat brought in a live bird one day, plopped it on the living room floor and batted it around like a toy. Usually they leave just the bird feet—no other parts at all—on the front steps. hah And cat bites are toxic to small animals, so your rat might die soon, anyway. Good luck, though.

Was it really a rat? Those are some tough beasties; I came into my room one time to find my dog and my pet rat (who was having some free time out of the cage) staring each other down. You've either got one tough cat, or are afraid to pick up and throw away a teensy little mouse. YDI, if I do say so myself.
