Today, I had pizza for lunch. Later, I passed out in front of a customer. Now I get to explain to my boss that I fainted on the job because of heartburn. FML

It sounds like there's something else going on that OP isn't aware of. I've had horrid GERD for years and never passed out from it. Granted, everyone is different. Still, my advice would be to go see either your GP or a gastro specialist and see what's going on.
