Today, I finally got up the courage to talk to my four-year boyfriend about how insecure I've been feeling in our relationship recently, and how I needed his support while I try to get my self-esteem back on-track. He fell asleep mid-conversation. FML

I almost freaked out for a minute because I thought you meant your boyfriend was four years old, but seriously if he falls asleep on you he may have just been tired. Try again later and discuss your problems. However he's a guy so he's not really the best person to ask for that kind of help in the first place...

As I read this I added the word "old" on after four-year. I was briefly concerned why you were confronting your four year-old boyfriend, then worried why you were dating a 4 year old so needed to reread. Thanks for the mini heart attack OP!

The thing about "self-esteem" is... self. How you feel about you is something only you can take care of. The thing about your "boyfriend" is... he's a douche. But that also happens to be something you can take care of, as in get rid of.

If he was alert and awake right up until you started talking about yourself, then, yes, he totally sucks. If he fell asleep because you didn't start talking to him until just as he was going to bed, then YtotallyDI. If it was anything in between those two extremes, then you have not given us enough information to say who sucks more in this situation.
