Today, someone hit my parked car. The impact caused the front of the car to go up onto the sidewalk, and I got a ticket for parking there. FML

See, now if you lived in SA and were that way inclined, you could just buy the cop a can of Coke and they'd squash the fine then and there. Sad, but handy at times...

I wouldn't be surprised if the cop hit your car and then got nervous, so he wrote you a ticket for parking on the sidewalk to try to get off the hook.

Such a double stroke of bad luck, sorry OP! I'm sure you'll get the ticket dropped, but good luck with the insurance and the damage though.
