You must conform!

Today, my personal trainer fired me. Why? Because I wanted to focus on strength training, not weight loss, and refused to track my carb intake or fasting hours or "hold off on carbs til the optimal time of day." Nice to know I'm not allowed to be satisfied with my own weight. FML

To make this simple: weight training is good for weight loss so combine weight training with cardio. Building muscle burns fat. And natural carbs are good for you. After all, CARBS DO NOT MAKE YOU FAT! Combine all natural food such as carbs and protein. I don't agree with fasting as it will induce stress (increase cortisol), demotivate you and won't benefit you as an active person. You'll kill gains. Jump rope, run on the treadmill (or simply jog), lift those dumbells and barbells, and stick to either maintaining your calorie intake or go on a calorie deficit if you choose to loss weight slightly faster. And very importantly, GET YOUR ZZZ's. Sleep is very important for weight loss and muscle hypertrophy. I highly recommend the Mediterranean diet. It's a diet I follow and is arguably the healthiest diet in the world. **** that trainer. You don't need him. Stay disciplined and consistent.

just as bad a comment as usual, keep up the poor work 🙄

The trainer was right. If you're not going to follow their advice, you're wasting everyone's time. A trainer letting you stay fat would be like a teacher allowing students to remain ignorant.

The trainer probably figured that if you didn’t look skinny as a rail afterwards that people would assume they failed as a trainer. Which is obviously a load of dung because the important part should be that *you* feel good about how you look and how your body feels.

Not much point in being your trainer if the goals and strategies differ. Find a different trainer who’s plan matches your strategy.

He quit. He is paid by you for work. He isn't firing you, he is quitting.

Good for you being comfortable with your weight! But I really hope you didn't missinterpret your trainer because your diet is important even if you don't wish too lose weight.

Strength training builds muscle. When you do this, you gain weight, so if you're happy with your current weight, you won't be if you just concentrate on the strength training.
