Today, as always, I have Tourette's syndrome. It causes me to occasionally make a beeping noise. My boyfriend just figured out that if he beeps back, it makes me beep again. He thinks it's hilarious and won't stop. FML

What if he beeps louder than you? Does that make you beep louder than him? And set this in infinite loop?

I'm so sorry! I have Tourette syndrome and my boyfriend did that once before he knew. He was making the same noise I was and it made me do it more, so I got really frustrated. I can normally keep it under control for the most part. He felt bad and stopped after I explained it to him. Maybe try to explain to him how if keeps doing it it can possibly make it worse for you?

I have a t-shirt that reads: I only have Tourette's for YOU ******* *****! I will wear it tomorrow in your honor.

This is the best thing ever.

Oh god, I have Tourette's and I know exactly how you feel. I went to see "The King's Speech" and I was stammering for a week afterward -- other people having or imitating my vocal tics always triggers them. People calling attention to my tics, vocal or motor, also triggers them, which is beside the point, but it's a real hassle. And no treatment has ever even slightly alleviated it... Does he know how frustrating it is for you to have tics? Does he know what a nightmare it can be, to have a constant extreme urge to make arbitrary movements that people deem weird and can sometimes interfere with functioning (sometimes I literally can't speak) and/or be physically painful (I've given myself a sore throat multiple times and a stiff neck at least once)?

I'm so sorry. Living with TS as well here and the vast majority of my friends don't get it and they laugh and make jokes and everything. Verbal tics are terrible. Never had someone drive my tics on purpose, but I swear when I hang out with my one other friend with TS I motor tic worse than ever, and when I hang out with friends with stutters it makes me stutter worse; so I see your pain.

Okay so real talk, take magnesium! It's a vitamin and when I take it my Tourette's is almost unnoticeable! It saved me.
