There is “no one soulmate” there are simply people who are more or less compatible. To obsess over a lost love is to keep you from seeing those around you who might be a good match for you.
sounds like it wasn't meant to be but because you keep fantasizing what could have been you haven't let yourself find the one that is right for you. it probably would have ended anyways or you would have been miserable if you stayed. talk to a therapist so you can move on with your life.
Maybe you should take a vow of celibacy. I hear those really work even though there's a slight chance you'll become a pedophile.
