Wow. He's had plenty of time to come clean and tell you, but let you defend him when he knew he was lying anyway? He's "addicted" huh? You could make him seek therapy and have a trial separation if its a genuine addiction, but it sounds like an excuse. Sorry, but you're better off without him.
