Asshat

Today, my boss scheduled a staff breakfast at a swanky new restaurant for all the hard work we've been doing. The dining area is on the roof, and the building has no elevator. I've been in a wheelchair for 11 years. When I brought this to my boss's attention, he said it wasn't his problem. FML

Run over his foot in your wheelchair "accidentally".

it's not a paid job-related task. Discrimination only applies to ability to work, not parties thrown by douch bosses.

why in the **** nowadays to people think they can sew every ******* time something happens. That's why every one thinks americans are pussys!!!!!!

Actually, this person has 14th ammendment rights, which garuntee disabled persons rights of acessability. The boss is correct, it is not his problem. The restaurant is the one that could have a lawsuit thrown at them.

For that, he should carry you up!

I'd be like 'youre a lazy bitch, now carry my ass up them stairs.'

Sue that asshole. I think this falls under discrimination.

not that I support what the boss did, but it would be rediculous to get sued for not helping someone up the stairs

he's not saying sue the boss for not helping, you as an employer need to give all of your employees equal opportunities. now suing him because he discriminated against ops handicap, that's a bit more logical. ops boss is wrong for this and op, you need to talk to human resources or employee relations. I don't know how they will respond but start there before posing a lawsuit.

depends on the laws in Bermuda though.

good point. didn't realize that. thanks for the heads up

But this isn't a work situation - It's a dinner that is most likely out of office hours, so I'm assuming OP probably wouldn't be able to sue anyway.

he can however sue the place they were going to eat at for not having wheel chair accessibility

Unless it would be "unreasonable". According to the NRA, a restaurant is only required to provide "reasonable" assistance to guests and employees. Reasonable has been defined as "no more than $300" I would think it costs more than that for an elevator

Tell your boss to bring you back something, and that something should be pretty darn pricey.

Time to get in touch with the ADA. What a douche nozzle......!

djewel6 0

ADA doesn't apply idiot he's in Bermuda which is a separate country

I think he's okay with his comment anyways because douche nozzle is a pretty badass way to describe someone.

wow. what an ass wipe. that's a serious condition for a lot of people. maybe threaten to quit and see what he does.?

what threatening to quit going to do! nothing, it just mean he quit and that was his choice no matter what the reason, if he got fired for it that be different...but quitting will just cause harm to him.

WOW! Your boss is a complete douchebag!
