Hardly equivalent. If i remember my pregnancies, deliveries, and child - rearing years correctly you get several month's warning prior to becoming a parent. Then there's the memorable event of becoming a parent, followed by a flurry of activity surrounding the care and feeding of an infant. THAT ensures that you don't leave it in a shopping cart. Being handed a doll and told "take care of this" is not the same.

In high school sex-ed class (many years ago ... ) we had to carry an egg in a basket to represent a baby for 2 weeks. The first thing I did when I got home was to boil the egg to make it more resistant to “injuries”. I wonder if that works with real babies ... 🤔🤔🤔
Don't worry too much. There's probably at least two guys in your class that will have spent the week using their dolls as footballs.
