Today, when I went to pick my kid up from daycare, I found out that he had run away. The rest of my afternoon consisted of me screaming his name, looking for him. I then returned to the daycare center. He thought it would be funny if he hid in the trash. FML

Your kid was missing and the daycare staff didn't have enough sense to check the premises? The first thing you need to do is have a serious conversation with your son about inappropriate behavior. The second is to find a daycare that's actually capable of keeping track of your child. The third is to take legal action because they not only lost your child, but they did not take appropriate steps to locate the child or report him as missing to the authorities. I'm not a big fan of jumping on the lawsuit bandwagon, but these people obviously need to be investigated to determine if they're even capable of running such a 'business'.

I'm glad your child is safe. I say it's time to find a new daycare center. FYL.

damn that sucks. glad you found him. but if that was me first I would have beat his ass in front of everyone at the day care then second I would have cursed the people in charge out. and reported the child care facility to cps for not properly watching and caring for each individual child like their supposed to. the. gone and found somewhere new for my child to be watched.

@#39 I think he was being sarcastic, hopefully. lots of kids don't have that kind of forethought UNTIL they get hungry, cold, etc. however. Especially if they're still in daycare.

This reminds me of a couple of times my brother went "missing" first time my mom and I were at the mall with him, when he wandered off when we weren't looking. He ended up in the toy section, and we're the ones who got lost. second: My grandpa had finished making lunch, and noticed that my bro was gone. He looked everywhere, phoned my mom, but she told him to keep looking. He found him asleep underneath the coffee table finally: While I was bowling (bro bowled to but at a different time) at the end of the second game the team decided to take a quick lunch break. I went to see what he wanted for lunch, but he wasn't with my parents. After looking around, and figuring he was in the washroom, I went and bought my lunch. As I was coming back, I noticed him, asleep, underneath one of the tables.

Asleep under tables, did he grow up with the dog?

no, cats. he grew up sleep on the bottom bunk, so I guess, at that age, he felt more secure with something over him

you would think that the day care would have called you to tell you that he ran away way before you picked him up. I think you should move day cares

if I understand this right he ran away whilst at daycare, surly as his temporary careers they have a responsibility to find him and notify u as well as any authority :/
