best wedding ever!
If you're too much of an uptight little snob for Batman and Star Wars, please feel free to dump your fiancé so that I can snatch him up. He sounds like a real keeper. You, not so much.
...Personally, I wanted to have an entire recreation of Dax and Worf's wedding from ST: DS9, including the sparring during the vows. At Dragon*Con. Because I am a freaking geek and I love it. ^_^ I've since calmed down a bit to where I'll settle for a Mario-themed cake with Peach and Bowser as the bride and groom -- although the Dragon*Con setting still stands. OP, just because people are dedicated to their hobbies doesn't make them children. In fact, both of the series you mentioned have a lot of draw to adults, if not more -- there are some incarnations of Batman that are not for kids in the slightest, thematically and in terms of content. Something can appeal equally to people of all ages without being dumbed down or an indication of immaturity. (also Batman is awesome, and Star Wars is *forever*)
Thats what the groom's cake is for! That one can be whatever theme he wants. :)
