Bad sitter

Today, I was taking care of a friend's hamster. Thinking the hamster wanted to make a bed, I put some cotton balls in his cage so he would be comfy. He promptly ate them and died. FML

They make cotton hamster bedding and sell it in quite a few pet store chains. The problem here is not that you gave it cotton, but that it had nothing to chew on and apparently no food since it ate it.
