personally, I would rather my boyfriend listen to me and get a cheap gift that has sentimental value [like a candy that you told him you like] then him not really pay attention to me and get an expencive last minute gift that means nothing.

You know what else is cheap, but is a hell of a lot more romantic than Twizzlers? A framed photo, a scrapbook, anything vaguely personal. It sounds like this gift took about six seconds of thought, and it's not personal unless there's some cute story about Twizzlers to go along with it. You shouldn't get a girl the same gift that your eight year old niece would like.
