Today, I went to a park and sat down next to this older lady. Some kids started fighting and screaming at each other, so I leaned next to her and said, "Man, am I glad those aren't MY kids." She turned to me and said, "Yeah, they're mine." FML

don't comment on kids to someone you don't know it, if there's one thing you learn from this website its you don't do that!

Your next line should have been: Then please don't have any more. And walk away.

People need to control their kids with a good ol' belt.

I have kids and I have thought the same thing!

I don't really think this is an FML, nor do I think it's a YDI. Parents need to learn how to control their kids better, and sometimes they need a harsh dose of reality (like a stranger being thankful they aren't THEIR kids) to realize it.

YDI for making the assumption that those weren't her kids. You should have known that because it would be likely she would be the female sitting next to you, and the kids in front of her playing around, since any sensible parent sticks by their kids at a public area. Besides, it's natural for children to argue and play fight. As #15 said, if you have anything hurtful to say, don't say it at all, the world could do a lot better without people saying mean things obnoxiously. If this was in a grocery store, or doctor's office, it would be an FYL, but YDI on this one.

If they are hers then why the hell didn't she stop them? Srsly.

This a a FML for the other woman. I'm sure she knows her kids are brats.

Why not fix the problem, then? They are her kids after all.

If those kids were hers, then the concept of the OP's kids would be somewhat frightening. That woman needs to learn how to raise her kids. Kudos to OP for being blunt, but I'm sure their kids aren't saints either.
