As others have suggested, how about you find something HE likes to do instead of punishing him by making him run drills. All that will do will ensure he'll hate all exercise and he'll hate spending time with you.

If he doesn’t like sports, you’re just driving a wedge between the two of you. Why don’t you try learning about what he DOES like to do instead of having him run “drills”?
Drills are a terrible way to get into sports. Let them play badly at first and then explain how they can improve with drills. Did you wife leave you because your drills were boring?
