Bootlickers

Today, I got a ticket for panhandling to get gas money so that I could both drive out to a job interview AND still have enough gas to pick up my dad. Apparently, these particular cops had nothing better to do than harass me for standing quietly next to a freeway entrance with a silly sign. FML

If you have the money to pay a cell phone or Internet bill to post this then you should have enough money to pay for your own gas .... We are all in the same situation and can not spare to give you our hard earned money .. Take a bus and figure it out with out begging or money ..

In my town there's barely any, and the buses only get to whatever spot every 55 minutes, but mostly it's later than that.

I hate people who beg for money, especially when they get angry I don't have money to give them.

Next Time one gets mad at you for not giving them your money, throw change at them muah ha ha ha

Yeah, they get pretty aggressive. I had one coming after me, cursing and all.

She said she doesn't have money TO GIVE THEM. Not simply money at all.

94-don't throw change when walking by. Only when driving. That way they aren't angry for not getting money from you, keeps their attention on the ground and off you (out of harms way), and you aren't out much money.

Sorry, stand corrected - the change she doesn't have TO GIVE? :P

Oh go search the couch cushions and scour the arcade refund buttons on the machines like the rest of us poor people! Lol

Hey don't tell them about my secret places! :(

luckyd880 12

You tell an adult if anyone touches your secret places ok?

It's called public transportation, learn how to use it! Don't come on here and whine because you got caught doing something illegal. You just look like an ungrateful, unresourceful, idiotic jackass! If you really can't find $2 for the bus then I feel for you, but you still look like an idiot for complaining about getting caught breaking the law.

Not everywhere offers a bus. I lived in a area where the was NO bus what so ever. When my parents cars broke down they had to ask and plead with people to take them to the store to get food and go to work. The nearest store was five miles awayand that was a suburb area not a rural farming area. Not every one has the luxury of public transit.

I'm sorry... people would rather beg for rides than walk or bike? My grandparents walk into town every day, it's over 5 miles, and they walk back with groceries, seeds, car parts. They've been doing that for decades. People are getting way too lazy ._.

Walking 5 miles is no big deal. But his interview could have been 50 miles away. I don't think anyone here could even walk 100 miles (back and forth) or hell, even half of that. People need to get off of their high freaking horses. You are not better than this man just because you are LUCKY enough to have a job in these difficult times. The arrogance of people here is unfathomable.

If he is living somewhere large enough to have a freeway system, chances are good that there is some sort of public transportation system.

Not always. There was a entrance to a freeway not to far away from my neighborhood and we still didn't have a bus system. I guess five miles isn't bad but it is on dangerous roads. Guess it all depends on where you live and what kind of drivers you have.

Okay I went to college in a small town that only had a Greyhound bus station so I know what you mean. But it was a small town. Literally everybody knew eachother. If OP is in that same situation he would've been better off just asking a friend for a ride. Unless he got the call for the interview 2 hours before he was supposed to be there I'm sure he had plenty if time to call nearby friends and ask for a lift or some gas money. And again, he looks like an idiot for complaining about the police enforcing the law. It's their job!

I live on property 15kms down the freeway from a small country town of maybe 1000-2000 people, which is also situated in the freeway. The only public transport that town offers besides school buses, those same buses chartered in advance for groups in school holidays or interstate buses picking up tour passengers only, is an expensive as **** 12-seat minivan taxi. Don't expect that a freeway brings a big city and public transport

Start saving up your soda or beer cans and bottles and recycle them. I'll bet you come up with enough gas money that way.

The cops did their job perfectly in this instance. They got someone who is both utterly annoying and clearly breaking the law away from the freeway. No sympathy.

But you have the money for an Internet connection and a computer to post FMLs.

I thought the exact same thing. Unless they are posting from a public library. That's where all of the homeless people around here go.

Are you expecting people to feel sorry for you? Since you got a ticket panhandling is probably illegal where you were, so the police weren't 'harassing' you, they were doing their jobs. It's not their fault you're ignorant of the law and apparently didn't feel the need to make sure you had reliable transportation until the day of the interview. You deserve it for causing your own problem, breaking the law, and then acting like a victim.

Yes, because people can get whatever they want at any time and place. Maybe they had no one that could take them to the interview.

There is usually public transportation or even walking. If you make arrangements far enough in advance, you can usually work something out. It's obviously easier for OP to beg off strangers rather than friends or family. I wonder if he even asked his dad. How far away were these places, OP? A few dollars can get most cars around 20 miles with careful driving.

I am sorry that you don't have a job. This economy is tough and doesn't look as if it will get better soon. You shouldn't have been panhandling. The police were not harassing you.

Notice how all three of these guys's names are fit for a gamer ID in Call of Duty.
