You can’t consider having and taking care of a baby unless and until you take care of yourself first. Babies can *also* cause elevated blood pressure from stress and lack of sleep. Do you want kiddo to lose you at two months old because of your blood pressure issues? Get a doctor.

I know of people stateside who swear by a med called Prazosin which temporarily lowers your blood pressure (8 hours effect? I forget, I'm not medically qualified so this is pure anecdote here) - it's also effective against chronic anxiety and CPTSD induced nightmares. I also know of people stateside who swear by a company called united pharmacies (though a search on GoodRx may be more useful to find somewhere nearby) if your health insurance is for shit. You're still obligated to budget in a doctor's visit on the grounds that you want to be a live father rather than a dead sperm donor, but if I've correctly guessed the logistical issues involved in actually following their advice maybe the above will be of some use.
