Police brutality is getting out of hand
I think you can sue the PD for unnecessary use of violence.
you can sue yes, but go after the department not the officers (if they acted under good faith theyre immune anyways) but you can pull more money from the department, and those of you saying cops can do whatever they want, no we cant. the blue wall of silence does not exist anymore.
side note, those of you who feel that a cop would not pull their gun out in this situation, they very well might. Many cops leave their hand resting on their firearms which signifies fear and if they are skiddish they may very well draw on you for nothing. They have no business being cops but it happens

I'm fairly certain you actually can sue for this, darling. Is it me, or are the police getting more and more brutal these days?
to everyone say that "cops wouldn't do that," BS. Cops can do whatever they want, and then lie about what happened. Their cop buddies will stand behind them. I knew a few people this happened to. And there's no point in suing because it's your word against theirs.
