Busted

Today, my mother asked me if my boyfriend and I were getting serious. I quickly lied and said no. She then informed me that if things ever heated up, she would take me to get birth control. Wanting birth control, I confessed. In turn she grounded me. I'm not allowed to see my boyfriend anymore. FML

Cops and your parents are always allowed to lie to you.

Alot of places you DO need parental permission actually. I am over 18 now but when I was younger i told my doctor i wanted it, so she made up a lie to my mom about "iregular periods" and had her take me to the gyno who then gave me birth control to "Fix the problem"...it was one big conspiracy but its a good way to get around the parental permission dilemna

Wait a second, everyone is bitching about the parent's lying to the children, but the moment the child lies to the parent it's ok? Your mum came to you and asked a simple question and was willing to do right by you, but you lied and got punished. You deserved this.

Wonder where she picked up the lying trait from... Only way to get your kid to be honest with you: be honest with them

first - don't lie to your parents. Second, if you do lie, stick to it. If you said that, then waited a month or two, then brought it up that you and bf were getting more serious - that may have worked. Unless it was a maternal sting operation, which is kinda lame.

That's entrapment. Your mom is a bitch.

when i wanted birth control i told my mom there wuz so much blood i kept passing out in class.

I hope you get to see your boyfriend again. Don't let the relatonship end because of this. It will work out if your mom truely loves and cares about you.

oh wow. that's not right of your mom for doing that to you, which is the general consensus here. but at the same time, just dont lie. it makes things so much easier. which is general consensus number two. it sucks how AFTER you said "no," she then said that if you did then you would get the birth control. i figure she knew you were lying in the first place and said the right thing to make the truth come out. mom gets point, but she probably lost the trust you had in her, so nobody really wins. sorry about the whole deal. i think your mom is trying to be protective, cause you're still her child, but she's going about it the wrong way.

Please, like you guys never lied to your partents before. Get off your damn high horses
