Ayeeep, you're paying a professional to find out exactly what is wrong with your car. Their time and knowledge costs money. If they found out it was something small and cheap, you'd have gladly paid it! It's a trade-off, and thankfully you got a straight answer. Its probably time to start looking for another vehicle if you don't wish to repair it before yours won't startup anymore, especially before winter! If you do repair it, make sure they have a good warranty on their work. On the other spectrum of crappiness, we had finally paid off my husband vehicle last May (6years), and he was rear ended a week later. The damage was just over the value of the car (the back structure was damaged JUST so) that he lost his fav car, and we got only half it's value back in cash. Super crappy situations all the time.
not really. some dealers charger over 150 an hour. it's not great but I wouldn't say it's a bad price

$300 is a lot for a mechanical diagnosis check...
Originally, they thought I needed a tune up. So after I got it, it was still stopping and going. I went back and that's when they told me. I had a 1999 Honda Accord.
