It's unfortunate that your grandma knows how to text. On the other hand it just makes him seem like he is a twelve year old and doesn't have any potential of being a reliable person. It doesn't matter with how you were separated, all that matters is that he is out of your life and teaches you where to raise your standards when something just doesn't seem right.
