No soup for you!
I'm with you, that was his bad. Usually people ask for change... don't they?
i'm thinking the OP probably works in a coldstone (because i do) and i would say that more than 25% of our customers tip in at least some way, whether it's a dollar or just putting their change in the jar. and i know if someone handed me a dollar after making their purchase i would automatically think it was a tip and thank them. the OP was probably new at the job and embarrassed about what happened. stop being mean.
So wait... your problem is that you thought a guy was giving you a dollar but he wasn't? Are you ******* serious? I kind of hope this is a troll, seeing just how stupid an FML can be and still get onto the site.
when i was working at jcpenney this old lady offered a $5 tip but I rejected because in previous jobs it's against store policy to accept tips, then I find out from my bosses that it's okay. Could have paid for my lunch that evening. I had another mcdouble, they're awful.
Raw nerves my ass that wasn't anywhere near as shocking (oooh look at me shock people! I'm so funny and unique lol) It was just... not funny. Pretty dumb really.
in coldstone they'll dance the cha cha cha for a quarter =]
There was a brief, minor confusion over whether or not you were getting exactly $1.00 in tips? I'm amazed you haven't committed suicide yet. Stay strong, we're all here for you!

Would've helped if he'd asked for the change while handing it over, rather than expecting you to be able to read his mind. I understand your confusion
He's an asshole for not saying anything to you in the first place. I hate it when people do that.
