Since people commenting don't seem to understand how this works, let me explain: Proper etiquette for asking for change: Me: "Can I get {CHANGE} from {BILL}?" Them: "Yes" (or "no") Me: If "yes", hand over bill, receive change. Proper etiquette for giving a tip: Me: Give money with no preamble. I can see how people get confused.
I get the idea.
Don't wurry, he's just jelluss! :]
Honestly, you didnt do anything to deserve a tip. You do your job, witch is what you get paid $5 a hour for.
Don't jump to conclusions
I have a huge thing for making idiotic comments, LOL.
That's so frikin hilarious I'm weak XD lol
YDI for being stupid. I don't know what it's like in america, but here in england we don't give tips at all, unless the shop has a separate jar.

Would've helped if he'd asked for the change while handing it over, rather than expecting you to be able to read his mind. I understand your confusion
He's an asshole for not saying anything to you in the first place. I hate it when people do that.
