OP, my deepest thanks for putting your life on the line (again!) to teach science. It's scary that the crazies who used to threaten elementary and high school teachers are now threatening college teachers, too. But when one of the two major US presidential nominees claims not to believe in evolution (on live camera!), I guess crazy has gotten crazier.

Some Christian dude inferred that God created everything around 4004 B.C. by taking dates in the Bible coupled with other historical documents. This is what most Christians cite as proof for saying the Earth is only 6,000 yrs old. The OP is probably getting death threats because geology is based on Earth's formation over time from 4.5 million years ago. This conflict gets their panties in a twist.

honestly I'm a Christian but if that is your job I wouldn't be mad at you. everyone is allowed to have their own views. I do apologize that there are people like this. know there are good Christians out there.
