Today, my son invited his girlfriend over to our house, just to break up with her. Then he asked me to drive her home. I was then stuck in a car with a bawling teenage girl who lived over twenty minutes away. FML

Obviously they were young, since they're not old enough to drive. They're immature, and probably broke up for some dumb reason, but the boys not a douche bag for breaking up with her. Big whoop, everyone gets dumped at some point in their life.

The boy is a douche for 'how' he broke up with her. There was no need for him to invite her to his parents house just to humiliate her in front of them. Not only that, to make his own parent drive the poor girl home. 'That's' why he's a douche.

And if his house is the only place they could do so without the whole town being in their business? Obviously he did it face to face so he had at least some thought of how it should be done, and there's too little info in the post to assume that he did it just to **** her over. Especially since she really didn't get ****** over. The parent was kinda given the shaft, but kids tend to do that on a regular basis so there's nothing particularly special in that regard.

Strange no one mentioned this before, but this is more a **** her life. I can't imagine how awful it must feel to get a ride home from your ex' dad who can see you crying. Well, your son is a bastard. If he had balls, he would have gone to her house to break-up. Now he has led the effort to her and you.

I think you are both assholes, personally Op. This poor girl came over to someone else's house only to have her heart broken when he broke up with her and dismissed her. Then she had to ride in the car with someone who didn't give a flying rat's ass about her, since you put it on FML, only to walk into the house and have people ask a million questions. It was the least you could do to drive her home. You raised the kid you should have taught him to have the balls to break up with someone kindly and not just shove them off onto their parents like she isn't worth shit.
