Wouldn't it be mandatory and you'd have to take it either way? If its to graduate.
Sounds like OP is a minor in high school and needs parent/guardian permission (American schools are picky about that). Show her the form that says the class is mandatory, and that common sense and intellect won't get you an exemption. Get the school to explain it to her, if that doesn't work. Good luck, OP.

... i think you need to take that class since you use CPR mostly to resusciate someone after they stops breathing, not when they are choking.
