Countdown

Today, my wife was screaming at our son over his maths homework, so I poked my nose in to help calm them down. My wife was not happy when I pointed out that most of her calculations and answers were wrong, whereas our son got most of his right. I’m now in the doghouse because my wife can’t count. FML

You need an actually emotionally stable wife who doesn't verbally or emotionally abuse your child.

No problem. Count to ten, and return things to normal. When your wife questions it, tell her it's been three months.

Well done for sticking up for your son. You did the right thing.

Sticking up for your son is great, but it is not good to do it in a way that embarrasses your wife. I don't know you or the details of the situation, but it might have been beneficial to have her step away from the homework with you to get a break and calm down. That way your son wouldn't have been in the middle as well.

OP's wife embarassed herself, didn't need anyone to do it for her

I could have written this 35 years ago, except no one stuck up for me. Your son is lucky to have you.
