Today, a guy called me out of the blue. Apparently, he'd copied my number from a sheet we'd filled out in church. He doesn't understand why I'm "overreacting". FML

Sad, I'm older and believe it or not (and you can watch a lot of movies from the 80s and 90s to prove it) people smtimes figured out a way to contact a love interest and it was fun and u sometimes dated, it's not stalking at all, if you're creeped out you can block him&say "leave me alone".

What I'm saying is that I lived through that time and let me tell you pretty in pink or silly movies like that are certainly based in reality - feels old to say "I was there" but people didn't go batshit over something like this back then and people did end up dating sometimes. Esp. b4 Internet

But to be clear I am also saying that she shld definitely block him and let say completely directly "leave me alone" if she is creeped out. Definitely some people are freaked out but it doesn't mean that what is now considered invasive always was.

I can't believe you guys! it's just like if a guy in your network of friends, somebody you didn't really know personally, asked a friend for your number because he thought you were cute. #26 is right. Before internet and other technology you would just get their number and call your crush. Maybe OPs story is different (obviously because it's an FML) but he was just stating an opinion that could argue a different side of the story. Damn, calm down people.
