Today, in art class, we finally did the critique of the self portraits we've been working on for a month. We critiqued a few and got to mine. Everyone was silent then finally, one girl says "I'm just going to be blunt. It doesn't look like you. You're not that pretty." Everyone nodded. FML

Today, the guy I was seeing texted me a photo back of myself I had sent him earlier, saying I'm such a beautiful woman, suggesting that I set it as my profile pic. Too bad he doesn't think I'm pretty enough without a lot of enhancements, because he photoshopped the hell out of that thing. FML

This sounds like my art class some girl did a portrait of her that looked like a model and she... well she didnt look like that but I obviously didn't say anything to her

What a bitch! I hope the teacher chastised her. Besides, portraits are supposed to flatter the subject. Hence the expression, "pretty as a picture."

Let's just settle this. If OP's drawing was distorted to the point where it looked nothing like her, than it was very badly phrased criticism. If the other girl was just jealous that she doesn't have the artistic talent of her, it's a spiteful comment and she is insensitive and rude for saying that. OP shouldn't be offended by criticism; the assignment was (most likely) for accuracy and not for alterations in the final product.
