Get over yourself. Jobs are tough to come by these days. Think of it this way. You could: Take a job where you work as a grunt in a lab, and yes even with high distinction (is that different from high honors?) you won't get any job better than lab grunt with just an undergraduate degree. Go back to grad school. Apply tirelessly to jobs you have no chance at getting that require experience on top of your degree and accolades. Be grateful, thank your mom for the thought, explain that you are (I'm guessing) only 22 or somewhere around there and there is no rush, and maybe even take this job and maybe even work your way up through the ranks of the zoo (assuming this is just a petting zoo inside a bigger zoo), or work it while you apply to better jobs.
college degrees are worth shit these days
I can't really say anything. I'm so worried about school that my parents say the same exact thing.
haha man i know exactly how you feel! I graduated with 2 majors in Biochem and Molecular Biology last year. Got a job making more than anyone in my immediate family. Just bought my own house. For my recent 23rd birthday my mom wrote in the card "i hope you become successful like your sister" she is 4 years older than me and works at wal-mart, but she's more successful because she's married and I drink too much. FML too lol
LOL #15 you're lucky. I got married at 18 and had my first at 21, but the whole time inbetween my mom was trying to convince me to have kids. Blah. And yeah OP, FYL. Seriously, who are you going to meet at the petting zoo? Single moms, little kids, and married moms. And it's not like you'd even be able to ask the single moms out when you're at work!
I suggest graduate school. Far Far away...
Her logic is lame. The only people who go to petting zoos are small children and their parents. Not single women.
firstly. congratulations. ^^ second. dont kno bout the rest of u but i love guys into science and especially into animals. AND im 19, single and LOVE petting zoos. whether u take the job or not. im sure ull find a girl liek me into guys with science degrees. and for those who say only little girls and mothers go to petting zoos, what about single sisters? of either the little girl or the mother? id take my neice to the petting zoo. heck. id go without her. xP

You will meet girls! All the cool 6 year olds go to the petting zoo :)
So you are supposed to hook up with single moms so that she can have instant-grandchildren...
