Today, after being convinced that my cat had worms due to eating so much food and still looking really skinny, I found out that my neighbor secretly lets his dog in through my pet door while I'm at work. FML

Clearly, your neighbor can't afford to feed his animal. Do it a favor and take it to find a new home.

Not only this, but if the dog is subsisting on cat food only, it might be well on its way to developing nutrient deficiencies or other health problems. Either way OP needs to have a talk with the douchebag post-haste.

It might come back to bite him in the ass. What is balanced food for cats can poison a dog. Wouldn't pass up on a checkup for your pet, though.

Dang! Time to get a lock for the pet door or one of those fancy ones that only opens when the cat (wearing a special collar) is near it. Jerk neighbor! I'd leave a bag of dog food on his porch with a note that says "next time but your own" to buy some time to let you cat eat and get fat again.

I wouldn't go as far as to buy a bag of food for his dog-the dog will just eat that and when it's empty, he'll go back to old habits and scower OP's house again. Confrontation is definitely needed.

You should have noticed. What pet owner doesn't know his or her pets eating habits? I won't go as far as to say you deserved it though, as I suppose you might have been too busy. In the end, though, this isn't an FML. You found out that your pet doesn't have worms, before getting expensive medicine or taking him/her to the vet. I would be happy in your shoes... And I have been in your shoes as well

Lock the pet door while your out. Simple and easy. Granted the cat has to stay on one side of the door durning that time, but at least the food will be there for it to eat
