Today, I found out my late grandfather left me a significant amount of money in his will. I thought it was weird because he always acted like he hated me. When I got the envelope, there was $500,000 inside, all in Monopoly money. FML

Today, I attended the reading of my grandfather's last will and testament. My parents, as well as my brothers and sister, all inherited a nice sum of money. I got 69 cents, because, "young Jack always was an immature little shit." FML

Today, my aunts found grandpa's will, which left everything to me and nothing to them, and his lawyer confirmed on the phone this was definitely grandpa's wish. My entire family now hate me and think I manipulated him. My grandpa has hated me my entire life, so I think this is his way of punishing me. FML

Today, I inherited several buttloads of money from my grandmother, including property, and by gosh did so many relatives appear from the woodwork to remind me of money granny owed them, or how they just needed an investment to kickstart their business venture. Are you kidding me? Seriously? That's not how inheritance works. The executor of the will has specific instructions, and was obviously told to inform the OP of the amount, without revealing that the money was not real. OP did not receive the monopoly money, and count it just for the fun of it.

Yes. It never qualifies as hate until somebody writes a letter. The famous saying 'actions speak louder than words' was wrong. Well done! Also, read the FML. It says that the grandfather's past actions made the OP think he hated her/him and that's why the OP was surprised he left her something. Then her/his belief that grampie hated the OP was confirmed when it turned out to be monopoly money.
