Fairy tale

Today, my whole office is treating me like a pariah because I rejected the new guy who has autism. I have a history of being domestically abused so why should I date a guy who, by his own admission, loses his temper easily and attacks people? That’s right, I shouldn’t. FML

Your safety is the priority. If they feel sorry for him, then they can date him.

Regardless of his condition or your history, you have no obligation to date anyone you're not interested in, period. Anyone who thinks you should is an ass. Of course, I'm assuming you weren't rude or cruel about how you rejected him.

File a complaint with HR that your coworkers are creating a toxic work environment for you. (Hopefully, HR isn't part of the bullying.)

Dear HR, my co workers are actively creating a hostile environment because I refused to romantically date someone who openly admits that he is emotionally unstable and prone to violent outbursts. Whilst I do understand that we should all be welcoming and supportive towards new colleagues, I am genuinely struggling to understand why my coworkers seem to think that I must prostitute myself to an unsafe individual for their acceptance and a comfortable work environment. Please advise on the best course of action in this situation. Thank you, blah blah.
