Well... While it is kind of rude to text at the table it's not your in-laws' jobs to correct your behavior. FYL. On a different note: I wouldn't even have dared to check my phone. In-laws are terrifying.
YDI I think the point is not whether or not it was a little extreme to take the phone away (although I am sure it was done jokingly if at all) it's that you didn't have the common sense to realize that you are trying to make a first impression on people that could play a serious role in the future of your relationship. If they were courteous enough to invite you into their home and feed you, you should have had the common decency to put the phone away.
YDI for being so rude an inconsiderate... This new generation is destroying my hope in humanity.
Try to look at the positive points of my generation, you depressive twit. If not, GO LIVE ON MARS. Dumb-****....
well why does he have to do that all the time? maybe he's trying to get your attention so you will actually be intimate with him.
your boyfriend's parents probably dont want you two having sex either. Make a point to go to the bathroom for every text message you receive.
Great! I like my phone, but I agree. It does not rule me. Face time trumps virtual time. Good for them.
I would've smacked anyone that tried taking my phone.
You deserved it for being rude.
& how old are u??

Are they one of those crazy families that sit in dead silence while they eat, too?
