Friday, baby!

By jack - This FML is from back in 2016 but it's good stuff - France - Ajaccio

Today, I tried inviting the girl I like out to dinner. She replied, "Sorry, I already have plans." I asked her what they were, and she said, "I don’t know yet, but I’ll think of something." FML

I mean, she's not obligated to tell you her plans. She tried to let you down easy and you got nosey.

I don't know how I feel about this one. Yeah she sounds rude for being so blunt, but you did kind of put her on the spot. If she says she has plans she was probably just trying to politely say no.

Very true. One must always keep a tight leash on good times. They have a tendency to run away from you, and then you're stuck whistling and making kissing noises for them like a lunatic.

She should probably make plans to get a less bitchy personality :/

Or she could just make plans to know fewer nosy creeps.

#4 less bitchy? She rejected him politely. He didn't accept that and pried into it. That is how it works. Someone asks you out - you say yes if you want to and no if you do not want to go. Doesn't make her bitchy it makes him annoying.

She wasn't the one for you OP. She sounded very mean in her response. You deserve better.

She started off with a polite refusal. If he'd left it at that instead of being nosy and pushing it he wouldn't have got the meaner response.

She couldn't of at least come up with a valid excuse or just say she wasn't interested. That's low. You'll find someone else.

She doesn't have to have an 'excuse' not to date OP.

I must of read it wrong, I thought that was the first thing she said. That teaches me pay attention more often. My apologies.

You should've brought your grandma as a wingman. Y'all can take turns throwing food at the girls who turn you down

OR... OP was genuinely interested, just trying to make conversation? She could have easily found 5 other, more polite ways to tell OP it was none of their business.

Usually when you ask someone out and get turned down the conversation ends for a while.

Sorry #16. Didn't realize it was the woman's job to have to come up with 5 different ways to say "no" before someone will take a hint.

You can still remain polite. I'm sorry, but I honestly don't see a reason to become rude af #76.

I don't think OP meant to be nosey. Even if she turned them down, doesn't mean you gotta be rude, maybe they were trying to handle it with grace and was just being polite, in making small talk. She was the rude one to answer like that, she could have told a white lie if she didn't like them.

Why should she have to create some 'white lie'? You aren't obligated to spend time with someone just because they ask.

#26 Although most people would have caught her drift, she never actually said no. What she said implied maybe later so OP was most likely trying to gather more info for his second attempt. A simple "no thanks" would have sufficed and been completely unambiguous.

I mean I dont blame her. She might not know how to turn down someone.

Lol Considering her response, she's turned a lot of guys down. Girls who don't have as much experience turning guys down wouldn't have been so blunt unless he really cornered her.
