Hey OP here. First of all, to those saying not to call myself a "gamer girl" after only 2 weeks of online gaming - keyword is ONLINE. I've actually been gaming for about 25 years, so I think I have every right to call myself a gamer girl. Secondly, I actually didn't give out any information about myself. I'm not that stupid. The way he got ahold of the information was by using a third-party software to ping my IP while in a party. Not something I was aware could happen. Thirdly - Yes I know blocking is an option. It's the first thing I did as soon as things started getting suss. It was a stressful and difficult lesson, and is actually the main reason I never got into online gaming in the first place. Also, this happened about 3 months ago. So it's all well and good now.
This is why I don't game online. I'll stick to rescuing princesses, catching, battling, and training monsters, and playing with cards that have monsters, spells, and traps among them, thank you very much.
Tracing your ip will most likely give away your city/general area for the average gamer. He would have to "stalk" quite a few people before finding you. I still call bs on this.

Yeaaaaahhhhh don't ever admit you are a single woman in the world of online video gaming. At least its a learning experience for you. If i ever do use my microphone in an online match i just play off the disgusting, rude jokes and just never say if i'm single or not and if they push it i say i have a boyfriend even if i don't. Some people are just weird, you just gotta be careful who you give information out to. Some advice for you as well: Some people on the internet may act nice to begin with to gain your trust and then the tables can be turned. Just be careful and don't get too comfortable and trusting. And as others have said, after gaming for only 2 weeks, don't start calling yourself a gamer girl. You propagate the negative connotations to do with that phrase and it just makes you look silly as well. Being a girl who games is great :) but if you're going to be a gamer, just call yourself a gamer :)
You do realise she might have been playing offline games for the past 40 years right??
