Today, I had to slowly explain to my boss that in some parts of the world, it's currently winter, due to the different hemispheres. He scoffed, accused me of "making shit up," and said that if I took him for a fool again, I'd be looking for a new job. FML

Today, I walked into work, after having given my boss a weather prediction last week, so he could decide on which day to open a new company division. I was immediately taken aside and written up for "providing false information, adversely impacting morale". FML

Today, I have the flu, so I called my boss to let him know I couldn't come in today. He told me to think my "lies" through better, and claimed that you can only get the flu during winter. So I guess I'm faking my pale skin, short breath, runny nose, and constant sneezing. FML

Today, I've been freezing in my office for days at work. When I finally complained about it to a coworker, she led me into my office, said, "Let me show you something," then pointed out the thermostat I'd never noticed was even there and turned it up with a pitying look. FML

Even if it is considered winter in some parts of the world... snow falls in the same times as the rest of us... not to mention, your boss is your boss and even as dumb as they can be, they control whether or not you have a job... dont like it, work someplace else :)

I do not believe that someone is stupid because he or she is unaware of one select fact. It is one piece of information in a great myriad of knowledge and experience. It would be accurate to state that he or she is ignorant of an area of expertise, sure, but someone not knowing something that you know does not mean that he or she is less intelligent than you in general. Let's be fair.

This is not about a random person. This is about someone who is in charge of employees and important decisions affecting a company. And this is not a select fact, it's elementary school Geography knowledge.
