Give it away

By zobara - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - Switzerland

Today, after my credit card was stolen, the thief made donations to charitable associations. Now I feel bad for asking for the money back. FML

imagine all the mouth you've fed or homeless you've clothed at the cost of your own.

Steal a person's credit card and make fake charitable organizations which directly deposit the money into your bank account. Now that's trolling not Robinhood

Hopefully I can absorb all the thumbs down that you would have received and keep you clean. Taking one for the team!

Well if you ask for your money back make it sound like you need it. Tell them it was stolen and that you feel bad about asking for it back but you needed your own money

Genius thief. Good Guy Greg: Steals money, donates them away.

Did the thief have tights, quiver of arrows and a bow on his back?

I know it's cheesy but... your credit card was stolen by Robin from the Hood.

Yeah asking for the money back might make you look bad, so this is kind of a lose-lose situation for you, and a win for the charities, I guess the thief felt bad for stealing and decided to give back without having to go to jail.

Tough break. I'd feel the exact same way trying to get my money back. FYL indeed.

Even if it were for good intentions, the means of getting the source of funds for these charitable events defeat the purpose of supposedly exemplifying a virtuous deed done. You can't actually say you gave your heart in working hard for these charitable associations if it meant stealing something that was not yours to begin with.

Don't worry about it, just write those charities off when tax season comes.

I'd let the organization keep the money... Even if I had bills to pay. If it were a store then I'd ask for the money back, but a charitable organization.they can keep it. My conscience wouldn't let me do anything else
