Graceful

Today, in ballet class, I was really focusing and actually trying to work hard. I was really getting into the choreography. I was travelling big and leaping long. While going across the floor, again I travelled and leaped… right into the ballet bars and fell over, in front of 35 people. FML

Ballet fail. Professional dancers regularly attend class. It helps keep their technique up to snuff.

I've done that before, don't worry. It happens to the best of us :)

From the way you word your post, it seems like this is the first time you're working hard in ballet. YDI. and YDI for complaining about falling. You're not a dancer if you haven't fallen once.

Yesterday, in dance class, we learned a new dance. I didn't get any of it and ended up standing there awkwardly most of the time, making a fool of myself in front of 35 people. FML At least you can dance.

you know that this wouldnt happen if you actually tried on a more regular basis so you COMPLETELY deserved it

You have to start somewhere?...

Why is this a FML? post again when you break something

Awww I've done things like that... no big deal though! Just laugh it off! ;)

Hm. you sorta deserve it. i agree with some of the other posts. 1. There were probably no professionals attending the class. Not a big deal if you fall. 2. You ran into the barres, not the bars. &&3. When you're doing a jete, isn't the idea to be going for height, and not distance? So maybe 'leaping long' wasn't the smartest idea? I'm more of a jazz/contemporary dancer, and that's what I'm always told. I'm not the greatest, but I'd say i'm not that bad.. Just a hint of advice..correct me if I'm wrong? 4. Only true dancers fall on their ass :) Don't worry about it. It happens to all of us!

In regard to "leaping long", you're right. At least, that's how my, Russian-style, studio teaches them.
