Shhh. He's bringing em down from the inside! You're gonna blow his cover!
even my dad buys my older bro, me, and my mom gifts! i think ur love interest should too! my mom doesnt even talk about valentines day and my dad still goes all out!
Hit the nail on the head with the commentary, OP. I have to agree with his assessment on Valentine's Day, however. It's original meaning stemmed from Christian martyrdom. If you're in a relationship, every day should be treated like what the current meaning of VD is depicted as. Hunh. Interesting acronym Valentine's Day has there. There are metaphors and puns written all over that, but it's late and I'm tired. FYL.
and he is absolutely right! OP quit whining, valentines day should not merit gifts or anything!
Soooooo, your boyfriend likes to think he's got some principles, he doesn't like Valentines Day and all the commercial f*ckshit associated, and yet his priority is in his personal welfare (and yours possibly) rather than those things. Your boyfriend is normal. And you seem like a whiny girl full of jealousy at thinking other people are getting their partners attention, a rose and chocolates on one particular day (on which others tell you you should, because you wtfbbqmust) and you wont. Get over it.
yea well, i never knew about that "valentins day" untill they started with all that adds...its no holiday nore in any calendar but still i have to buy flowers and chocolate...well thats in la belle suisse not u.s. did it start out the same there? cuz it would be nice to have one day off work i guess :)

364? Which one day gets left out? Also, I'm pretty sure banks are closed a lot more than 1 day a year.
And? Am I the only one who thinks it's disgusting that apparently you can't love someone without being expected to buy them $20 roses and whatnot. Gifts should be just what their name implies- something you get for free because someone else cares about you. Not something you whine about until you get because an arbitrary holiday says you deserve them. Seriously, has it ever occurred to you that if you have to whine at someone to get you a gift, or act romantic, or whatever, then they're probably just doing it to stop you bitching at them, and it's really not worth that much at all?
