is it irony that you are the examle of what he is talking about. bitch
dump his stupid ass. you deserve better
I'm sick of hearing about how consumer-based and capitalist Valentine's Day is. Honestly, ALL holidays are. Before you scream "But Valentine's Day is invented entirely by Hallmark!" think about Mother's Day and Father's Day. Should you not be showing love/appreciation for your parents all year long? Absolutely, but there's still that one specific day that we go out of our way to remind them. As for women never buying men gifts on V-Day, I don't know where you come from but I definitely have a gift for my boyfriend that I made myself. "V-Day is commercial" is a pathetic excuse for people who are too lazy to get off their asses and celebrate their love. Honestly, any holiday is an excuse to celebrate my relationship with my boyfriend.
Uhm. Christmas?
My boyfriend and I never celebrate Valentine's day. It's a stupid holiday, and we're both broke jokes. Works for us!
She said he WORKS 364 day of the year, not there IS. OP is just implying that he works A LOT. He may not actually work that often, but she was exaggerating to make a point. You can work as many days out of the year as you want, she used that as a way to say he pours a lot of his life into his work. Also, if they have only been together for 6 months, she hasn't witnessed his full years work ethic yet, therefore she is assuming it based on what she has already experienced with him. TL;DR - The point of the FML is that her boyfriend is a hypocrite. We all know there are 365 days in the year. Read before posting.
find another boyfriend !
I'm sorry, but I have to agree with your boyfriend on this one. Valentines day is, perhaps, the lamest holiday ever. It's a scam to make people think that they need this one day to show their love for their significant other. If you really love someone, you shouldn't need material things to prove it. Actions are much better.

364? Which one day gets left out? Also, I'm pretty sure banks are closed a lot more than 1 day a year.
And? Am I the only one who thinks it's disgusting that apparently you can't love someone without being expected to buy them $20 roses and whatnot. Gifts should be just what their name implies- something you get for free because someone else cares about you. Not something you whine about until you get because an arbitrary holiday says you deserve them. Seriously, has it ever occurred to you that if you have to whine at someone to get you a gift, or act romantic, or whatever, then they're probably just doing it to stop you bitching at them, and it's really not worth that much at all?
